The FSC/FSS will host the 28th Annual Conference of International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) in Seoul from October 14 to 17. IOSCO was founded in 1975 to promote efficient and prudential regulation of the world’s capital markets and to establish international standards for the supervision of securities transactions. Since its founding, IOSCO has evolved into a major financial supervisory organization with 171 members from 102 nations. The FSC/FSS has been an ordinary member of IOSCO since 1984. The Korea Stock Exchange and the Korea Securities Dealers Association are affiliate members.

The theme for this year’s conference is “New Challenges for Securities Markets and Regulators.” Approximately 400 participants, including senior securities regulators from the member supervisory organizations and individuals active in international financial markets, are expected to be present at the conference.
