This regards April 3 Yonhap News article “Financial Supervisory Authority, putting a brake on outflows of capital in the form of high dividend payments”. The following is a summary of the article;
[The financial supervisory authority is preferentially reviewing plans to tighten the requirement for ‘appropriated retained earnings for financial structure improvement’ which is currently stipulated in the FSC regulations in an attempt to reduce dividends payable and hence to prevent high dividend payments to shareholders]

2. Correction to the article


The Financial Supervisory Commission hereby issues a correction to April 3 Yonhap News article entitled “Financial Supervisory Authority, putting a brake on outflows of capital in the form of high dividend payments”. The FSC has not undertaken any review on plans to tighten the requirement for ‘appropriated retained earnings for financial structure improvement’ in the FSC regulations and would like to take this opportunity to inform that the Yonhap News article is not based on facts.
