The FSC/FSS announced that Financial Statistics Information System (FISIS) would be available in English for foreign investors and other users through the FSS English website (http://english.fss.or.kr) in August. FISIS, a major upgrade from the monthly financial statistics in e-book format currently available in English, is an extensive, web-based database system capable of intuitive, user -friendly search on wide-ranging information and financial statistics from financial institutions. The English FISIS is identical to the Korean FISIS (http://fisis.fss.or.kr) except for a few modifications to the user interface and some of the contents to make it better suited and more relevant for foreign investors.

FISIS is capable of generating wide-ranging information and financial statistics on financial institutions, including general profiles, summary income statements and balance sheets, and key business indicators such as profitability, liquidity, and productivity in charts and other user-tailored formats.

The new system is expected to become fully operational and open to the public after test runs in July.
