FSC Chairman Kim Joo-hyun attended the 12th annual data protection seminar hosted by the Financial Security Institute on July 19 and delivered a keynote address. The seminar was held to strengthen awareness about the importance of data security in financial services and to provide a venue for communication between officials from the public and private sectors. In his speech, Chairman Kim outlined the government's efforts to support digital transformation of financial companies, promote a wider utilization of AI technology in financial services and facilitate development of fintech businesses. Speaking on the government's plan for financial data security policy, Chairman Kim said that the FSC will work to establish a principle-based and flexible data security system, help to cultivate a culture of responsibility rooted in the core value of financial data security and build a systematic risk management and response system.
