Chairman Lee Eog-weon of the Financial Services Commission visited Gwangju and attended the "KDB NextOne Gwangju" opening ceremony on July 7. The newly launched startup incubation center operated by the Korea Development Bank, which is the second of its kind after KDB NextOne Busan, is expected to help cultivate local high-tech startups in Gwangju and the Southwestern region. In his congratulatory remarks, Chairman Lee said that with large-scale investments in the region proposed by major semiconductor companies, the Southwestern region is expected to grow into an industrial hub for semiconductors. In this regard, Chairman Lee said that the government will also make sure to provide active and continuous support to promote local startups and high-tech enterprises.
