Vice Chairman Kwon Dae-young of the Financial Services Commission presided over a meeting with legal experts and officials from related financial companies on August 25 and had discussions on ways to bring about improvements to financial MyData services using AI. At the meeting, officials discussed (a) introducing an AI agent for financial MyData service users and (b) expanding the scope of financial data eligible to be used safely by MyData service providers. In addition, officials also discussed and shared key regulatory trends on data privacy in overseas countries. After having sufficient discussions with related industry groups and experts, the FSC plans to seek revisions to the Credit Information Use and Protection Act.
