Korea To Serve FATF Presidency from July 2015

FSC Chairman Shin Je-Yoon has been appointed to assume presidency of the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering(FATF) for a one-year term starting from July 2015. The FATF is an inter-governmental bodyfounded in 1989 to develope and promote polices to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.

Chairman Visited Myanmar for Closer Cooperation in Finance

Chairman Shin Je-Yoon visited Myanmar for closer cooperation in finance. The FSC agreed with Finance Ministry of Myanmar to export Korea's expertise and know-how in corporate credit rating system to Myanmar. He also attended Korea-Myanmar-ADB Forum to share Korea's achievements in economic growth and fast recovery from financial crisis.

Chairman Shin Je-Yoon visited UK to participate in Korea-UK Financial Cooperation Forum, an event co-hosted by the FSC and HM Treasury. The two sides discussed measures to improve cooperative relationship in the financial sector.
High-Level Global Symposium on Financial Education

FSC, FSS and OECD/INFE held a global symposium on financial education under the theme 'Promoting Long-Term Savings and Investments' with more than 150 participants from 37 countries and World Bank. * The International Network on Financial Education(INFE) is an international body underthe OECD that collects data and conducts research to promote policy makers' awareness of the importance of financial education. The FSC and the FSS have membership to INFE.
